The biggest U.S. company by revenue has dominated e-commerce, but a potential rival is emerging.

Amazon is adding several new features to its AI shopping assistant, including ways to create, edit, and move items between shopping lists and gift registries. As an example, Amazon says you can now ask Alexa for Shopping to “Create a new shopping list” or “Show me what’s left on my wedding registry.”

But while Amazon hemorrhages cash for AI, its revenue also failed to match up to analyst expectations. The tech giant reported $201.9 billion in revenue, up 12% since last year. That result was below analyst estimates, the Wall Street Journal reported.
